Welcome and first updates

This site or blog will contain thoughts, reflections, and musings of a 21-year-old. I plan on posting whatever, from why I think what I think to cool concepts from mathematics. This site should seem fairly informal, and if not, I’ve failed my goal of keeping this as low friction for me as possible.

So, who am I? I’m currently a junior undergrad studying mathematics and computer science. I’m quite involved in that, so I guess that characterizes most of who I am currently. Besides that, I lift, consume content, sometimes game, and recently have been spending a large time with family.

What am I doing now? My junior year of college just ended, and I’m now on a gap year off school to intern as a computational math researcher at a research center for a large technology company. The center itself is heavily focused on modern machine learning (so there’s quite a few engineering roles) but has an emphasis on foundational/applied mathematics as well so it should be pretty interesting.

Throughout this year, I plan to venture out and get started on graduate level mathematics which I’m excited for. As a result, this blog should contain some stuff from that side of the journey as well.

Recently, I’ve gotten started on that journey through an independent study with a very kind professor in my math department advising me. The book I’m reading is used to teach my school’s standard graduate analysis sequence.

And that’s mostly it! Goodbye for now.
